1. About ValetBook
This website is operated as ValetBook ("we", "us", "our"). ValetBook provides an online booking and introduction platform in Somerset. You can contact us at VB@bookyourvalet.co.uk.
2. Our role — platform and intermediary
ValetBook operates as an independent booking platform that connects customers with self-employed local car valeters. ValetBook does not carry out the physical valeting service. The contract for the performance of the physical valet is between the customer and the assigned valeter.
The assigned valeter is responsible for carrying out the service with reasonable care and skill, using appropriate equipment, maintaining any legally or commercially appropriate insurance for their business, and addressing complaints relating directly to the physical performance of the valet.
ValetBook remains responsible for providing and operating the booking platform, processing the ValetBook booking deposit and carrying out the platform services described in these Terms. Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts any liability or consumer right that cannot legally be excluded.
3. Bookings
- All bookings are subject to availability and postcode coverage.
- Bookings require at least five days' notice so we can assign an available local valeter.
- A £10 deposit is paid to ValetBook to submit your request. The deposit forms part of the total valet price, so the balance owed to your valeter is reduced by the same amount. This deposit is non-refundable within 48 hours of a confirmed appointment (see our Cancellation & Refund Policy).
- Submitting the request and paying the £10 deposit does not automatically guarantee the requested appointment. Your requested date and time remain pending until an available local valeter has been assigned. We aim to confirm this within 24 hours by email.
- The price shown at checkout is your confirmed booking price, based on the vehicle size, condition and extras you selected. The assigned valeter cannot independently change a confirmed price — if the vehicle has been described incorrectly or additional work is genuinely required, the valeter must contact us and any adjustment must be agreed with you before extra work is carried out.
4. Payment
The £10 deposit is processed securely by Stripe. The remaining balance is paid directly to the assigned valeter after the service has been completed. Available payment methods for the remaining balance may vary by valeter and will be confirmed before the appointment.
5. Cancellations & refunds
See our Cancellation & Refund Policy.
6. Customer responsibilities
- Provide accurate name, contact, address, postcode and vehicle details.
- Ensure safe access to your vehicle and a suitable working area for the valeter at the agreed time.
- Remove personal valuables from the vehicle before the valet.
- Provide accurate information about whether suitable outdoor water and outdoor electricity are available at the service location. Where access has been stated as available, you must ensure that the assigned valeter can reasonably access it at the agreed time.
7. Complaints about the physical valet
Complaints about the quality or performance of the physical valet should first be raised directly with the assigned valeter on the day, so the valeter has an opportunity to put the issue right. If you cannot reach a resolution with the valeter, email us at VB@bookyourvalet.co.uk within 48 hours, ideally with photos, and we will help mediate.
8. Liability
ValetBook is responsible for matters under its own control — operating the booking platform and processing the booking deposit. The assigned valeter is responsible for the performance of the physical valet, their equipment and conduct on the day, and for any insurance appropriate to their business. Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot legally be limited or excluded. Subject to that, ValetBook's maximum liability for any claim relating to the booking platform or the deposit is limited to the £10 deposit paid.
9. Consumer rights
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other applicable consumer protection law.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
